The 36th anniversary of the Mongol National Organization (M.N.O.) was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 1st January 2025 across the country, organized by various provincial assemblies of the M.N.O.
During the event, the President of the organization, Mr. Buddha Lal Meche, delivered a crucial speech at the event held in Padhajungi, Jhapa, which was part of the M.N.O.'s Koshi provincial assembly. He declared the victory of M.N.O. and its leaders and activists as the organization entered its 36th year after completing 35 years. According to him, the organization is one with a clear vision. He also made a strong assertion, stating that any philosophy or principle that lasts more than 36 years will remain alive for thousands of years. In this regard, he compared Buddhist philosophy with Mongol philosophy.
He said, “Buddha left home at the age of 29, and after six years of vigorous struggle, he attained enlightenment at 35. At the age of 36, he spread Buddhism worldwide, which has remained alive for thousands of years. Similarly, the founder president of M.N.O., the great man Immortal Dr. Gopal Gurung, formulated the Mongol philosophy at the age of 35 and began spreading it at 36. During this journey, he endured an underground life and imprisonment, but the organization he founded on January 1, 1989, has now completed its 35th year. Therefore, this organization will also live for thousands of years.”
During his address, he further stated, "Before reaching its 36th year, the Brahmin-Chettri forces conspired to stop M.N.O. from progressing, but no power in the world can stop M.N.O. now. They tried to stop the leaders and activists through fear of laws, threats, positions, and monetary temptations, and even I received threats just two days ago. But from today, their conspiracies are over."
He also shared bitter experiences from a few years ago when a press release was issued in the name of a person named David Tamang using M.N.O.'s letterhead, creating chaos and falsely accusing M.N.O. As a result, various authorities stopped programs and spread hatred toward the M.N.O. among the public.
While M.N.O. has not won elections yet, President Meche firmly stated that the organization would win in future elections. He even vowed that if M.N.O. did not win, he would retire from politics and, if necessary, smear his face with black ink and demand his exile. He also emphasized that there is nothing new that this country can offer beyond the issues raised by M.N.O., such as democracy, secularism, and provincialism, which have been promoted by Brahmin leaders to maintain power. He also mentioned that M.N.O.'s manifesto includes plans to open a university in the west under the name of Lakhan Thapa Magar and in the east under the name of Shri Jang Gurung and to establish an international Buddhist university in Lumbini. He welcomed the fact that the Chinese and Nepalese governments are now working together to build this university.
He further emphasized that all should honor the great personalities like Sripati Gurung, Ridama Rai, Ramlihung Rai, and others in their homes, and through the displacement of photographs from war times, the children of the indigenous people will be liberated from mental slavery and develop broader thinking. He also stated that Buddha is the only bridge that connects Nepal to other nations and warned that Brahmin-Chettri rulers, under the facade of power and wealth, were aspiring to become tyrants like Jung Bahadur Rana, Prithvi Narayan Shah, and Hitler, leading to the downfall of the nation.
In conclusion, he urged the indigenous people to embrace terms like "Mulbasi" (indigenous people) and "Mongol" to shift from being ruled to becoming rulers. These terms are deeply connected to the rivers, forests, rocks, and soil of their land, and their sacrifices for their land will be meaningful only when they give back to their oil. He emphasized that no Aadibasi Janajati ( nomad gypsy) can achieve political power and provide indigenous people’s rights, which only the Indigenous ( Mulbasi) can grant.
Explaining why 2025 is considered the time for fruition, he praised the great man, Immortal Dr. Gopal Gurung, acknowledging that even though many had abandoned him, individuals like Man Bahadur Gurung and Biren Gurung had always supported and encouraged him. As a result, their statues are being constructed. He also revealed plans to complete and hand over the construction of homes for people who supported Dr. Gurung during his time, including journalists Rajkumar Gurung and Dilip Dhimal. Similarly, homes for Jalandhar Pakhrein have already been completed and remain to be handed over to him. He mentioned accommodations for Prithi Mukhiya, who had supported Dr. Gopal Gurung in publicity of mongolism.
Thousands of indigenous Mongols in attendance echoed slogans and called for continuous support to M.N.O., filling the air with fervor.
M.N.O. – Long Live!
Mongolism: Long Live!
Immortal, Dr. Gopal Gurung—immortal!
Jai Mongol—Jai Mongol—Jai Mongol!
